Girls' Night Out

Sorry for the neglecting of the blog, I've been so busy with so many things, but more about that another time. Finishing up with the batch of posts I wanted to do the previous time, this is girls' night out piece.

This the annual Christmas gathering cum gift exchange with the girls, and it's really wonderful that all of us were able to make it. Nicely dolled up, pretty and becoming more and more mature, it's nice to see the girls again. Even though Yingling, Jasmine and Eunice are still in school with me, we hardly get to see each other, with the occasional his and byes along the corridors. I did try to arrange like a weekly lunch session with Jasmine, but to our horror, when we compared time tables we realised that whenever I'm in school, she's not. It's like all my free days she had class, and vice versa. Worse was the days we both were in school, I'd be having morning classes and she afternoons, or that I had afternoon classes on her morning days. Kinda not fated sia...

christmas with my doubly lovely ladies
Pretty pretty girls. I wore a new dress there!

christmas with my very lovely ladies
We had dinner at Swensen's at Holland V. But we didn't have our desserts there, we headed over to 2am Dessert Bar for desserts and another round of camwhoring.

christmas with the camwhoring lady posers
Jasmine and I went really crazy.
While walking over to the dessert bar from Swensen's, we passed by this beauty salon with cool blue lights, which just called out to us to take pictures with it. Then after our desserts, we spotted the sign of the dessert bar, and some weird objects lying around, which triggered off another round of posing and phototaking.

christmas plus girls equals photos
Real fun~

christmas gift exchange
Check out out gift exchange!
Look at all of us with our gifts, I wanted to type out who received what gifts from whom, but then I realised that I couldn't remember everything, so haha, shouldn't say too much here and reveal my ignorance. lol~

A nicely taken picture of all of us at Swensen's, even though some people's heads are smaller than some others, but still a very nice picture there.

christmas all heads in picture
Our standard self taken picture while trying to fit everyone's heads inside. Pity two left early, you spotted them?

Okay, I know my blogging's getting more slipshoddy, but I'm really busy. School's going to start soon, I should have more time in the early weeks of school before mid term break sets in. Good luck to all who've started, or are starting school after the nice and yummy winter holidays~

Old Friends

Meeting up with the CDS dance girls.

christmas with the cds dance girls

I haven't met these girls in the longest time. I didn't know why, but I didn't manage to make it for the last gathering. It's really nice to catch up with them and talk like we've never been separated. It's a pity only five of us made it in the end, yup, Lihui, Yanling, Xinen, Peiting and me~ Lihui and Xinen are working now, Yanling and Peiting still studying, but it won't be long till we graduate some six months later. Wonder what awaits us then.

hmm... Suddenly a lot of thoughts flow through my mind, but I can't seem to catch hold of any one of them and discuss about it, everything seems so vague that I don't know how to describe it. I think it's like that when we know we are friends, yet time has separated us, even though there is still a friendship, there is also a gap. Close friends, but yet distanced. I don't know how to describe it. But still these are the old friends whom I treasure the most.

Meeting up with Cindy and Sanmin.

christmas gathering with cindy and sanmin

It's also really nice to meet up with Cindy and Sanmin once again. They aren't exactly old friends, but now that we've all stopped German, and Cindy's working, we aren't that much in constant contact already.

When I see Cindy, I see that she really puts in the extra effort to keep her friends in close contact despite her being in the workforce. I don't know, but it seems to me that once I start working, being filled up with a busy work schedule, there's little time left over for friends anymore, so if the effort isn't made to keep in touch with the friends, it's easy to lose contact.

Paulaner Oktoberfest Brunch

A couple of us arranged for a Sunday German Brunch at Paulaner Brauhaus, and it so happened that the date we decided upon fell on the Oktoberfest celebrations. It was a pity I'm still nursing the wound and had to not take up the free flow beer option. It's the Oktoberfest Bier! grr... But we still had a great time anyway, eating, pigging, and camwhoring.

paulaner group pictures
Xiangqing, Xinli, Cindy, Yingfong, Jane and me went.

The whole place was decorated to the Oktoberfest theme, with balloons, streamers and posters featuring the highlights of Oktoberfest all about the restaurant. The place was fully booked too, with families crowding around the food, and kids running about despite them having the own play area. There's a mix of angmos and locals alike. And the service was great, drinks promptly filled up, but I thought that the replenishing of beer was faster than that of the soft drinks, plates were also cleared, when we left the table but never while we were still at the table. This is the perfect kind of service that is supposed to be at buffets.

And the food was great.
paulaner brunch food
These were all the food I ate, not too many, but enough.

First plate was appetisers, cold cuts, sausage salad, and sashimi. I wanted to take bread, but remembered that bread would fill me up faster than the goodies. The cold cuts were great, it's been a long time since I indulged in cold cuts other than the usual fare. The sausage salad was a bit weird, too oniony for my liking, but there's this cold cheese sausage which is quite nice. The sashimi isn't what you get in Japanese restaurant, so don't expect too much from it.

My second plate was filled with meat. Pork schnitzel, sausages, pork knuckle, and dory fish with a few prawns on it. I know I'm not supposed to take seafood, but I couldn't resist that few prawnies. The pork schnitzel was a favourite with me, especially when dipped into the mustard. I had my daily intake of vegetables by eating that four stalks of asparagus, thank you very much. The sausages were marvellous, there were three kinds of them, all nicely grilled. And the pork knuckle too, I like. I don't like having to cut up the pork knuckle myself when I order it outside, because it always hurts my hands and fingers, but there was the chef there slicing up the pork knuckles for us. The fish was a bit normal, as in a nice kind of normal.

By the third plate I was a bit enough, so I got a smattering of various stuff. Seconds on the sashimi and schnitzels, some tomatoes and cheese I hadn't seen earlier, and from the meat section, duck and chicken. The tomatoes were good, they were marinated with some gooey stuff I don't know what they are, but it's good. And it's healthy eating! The cheese were okay only, I couldn't tell what kind of cheese it is, but they aren't my favourite anyway. I don't usually like duck, and this duck had the ducky taste which I didn't like. But the chicken was pretty nice, the only problem was me trying to subtly dig for the breast meat portions at the buffet table. That was a bit paiseh.

Because I'm not a desserts person, I had a simple dessert of chocolate cake and chocolate mousse. I would have eat more had the cake been of a smaller portion. The cake was great, I liked it a lot, just that there's too much of it that satiated me. The cream was forgettable. No, it's pretty bad. It was room temperature warm so it tasted weird. It might have ben nicer had it been chilled. Actually I had wanted to get some cream puffs on my fifth time over to the buffet spread, but there weren't plates, I procrastinated a bit then I forgot about it. bah~ But nevermind, it gives me an excuse to come back again another time. haha~

During the meal, we started taking a lot of pictures.
paulaner pair photos

I went around taking pictures, and after that everyone started taking pictures. Luckily I brought my camera along with me. I had brought my camera primarily to take pictures of the sausages to put up in my sausage blog, but food ended up only consisting a very small percentage of pictures out of all that I took. There are more pictures with my head in them, but it isn't surprising I guess. I like going out and taking pictures with people who like to take pictures!

And especially since Paulaner's was beautifully decked out in all the Oktoberfest streamers and stuff, all the must we should take more pictures. And that was what we did, pictures of the more than decorated Maypole.
paulaner oktoberfest balloons

We took so many pictures with that trying to get a perfect angle that we stayed on even after all the customers left. We were the last to leave lor, even our other friends left earlier. The restaurant were totally empty other than the waitstaff and us, and there we were crouching on the floor to help each other take loads of pictures. Hope Paulaner don't blacklist us. haha~

paulaner oktoberfest decor
Check out this streamers, it's quite cool~ But what I don't like is how come the womenfolk are serving the men? Okay, in traditional Bavaria, it's like that, and Oktoberfest traditionally is like that... grr...

paulaner camwhoring
The camwhore in me see props everywhere.

First there was the sunflower on the table. Granted, I didn't spot that as a prop first, it was Cindy. Then that thing became a staple in a lot of our pictures. haha~ Then there's also the mirror and the bier board along the stairwell to the toilet. Mirrors are good for taking pictures, and boards are good too. I can photoshop words onto the board and voila~

paulaner oktoberfest poster
Our table was right beside this cabinet thingie and on it hung an Oktoberfest poster, and Xinli started by requesting to have her head with the poster, and before no long, all of us queued to be photographed with that poster. haha~

That's Jane's beer in the picture, only Jane drank. I was tempted, but had been warned not to. Xinli and Yingfong thought that drinking would diminish their eating powress. haha~ The Oktoberfest bier was more potent than usual beer. Jane was half gone after three mugs when she usually takes three mugs too.

For more pictures, view here at a flickr account of mine!

It was great company with great food. Can't wait for the next of our little outings. Next up, German Film Festival!

My Brand New Baby Cousin

Being the eldest grandchild in my maternal side means that all my cousins are all younger than me, and here comes the youngest one now. Baby Ryan! I don't think there'd be anymore coming up seeing that this is my youngest married aunt, the unmarried ones seem to be not getting married any time in the near future, or at least until the end of their child bearing age. So baby Ryan, youngest in the family who had just celebrated his month old birthdat party.

baby ryan one day old
He was supposed to be c-sectioned on the 16th. It was something quite definite, but as how things go, nothing in life in predictable, and baby Ryan's waterbag burst one day early, and everything went ahead one day early.

He was tiny. 49cm and 2.2kg only and he was very crumply and red. See my mother in comparison to baby Ryan, her palm is bigger than his face!

baby ryan three weeks old
We went to visit him when he was about three weeks old because the sister hasn't seen him up close as she was recovering from her flu. And he's still so tiny. He's so cute, all wrapped up on a bundle, and I carried him for a fair bit of time. He's still very light and I'm still very afraid of hurting him since he's so tiny.

My sister was so afraid of hurting him that she didn't dare to carry him. haha~

baby ryan one month old
At one month old, baby Ryan is less red and more yellow, still quite crumply, and still tiny tiny. He has this frown lines on his forehead which makes him look like an old man. Oh, and he really likes it when I tickle his chin, he'd chuckle and giggle and saliviate.

Ahh... Babies...

The Social Butterfly

I've been going out a lot on top of piahing my papers. In the span out a couple of days, I had dinner gathering with the girls, my sec 4 class, my OG people, and the German classmates. Following this I'll be having more dinner gatherings with other groups of people, so yes, my schedule is very packed. But in my defence of going out too much and playing too much, I've managed to complete both my essay and my critique due tomorrow, so that leaves me with just the speech to write, but that shouldn't be too difficult to do.

4B dinner at Fish and Co at the Glass House
4B dinner at fish and co

This turnout was a bit sad. Seeing that as time flies by, each and every of us are caught up with out own lives, with out own work, be it school work or work work, fewer and fewer of us actually take the time to meet up with each other. But quite glad that at least most of the girls turned out. Those stupid boys can go and accompany their girlfriends. bahaha~ Seems like to the boys, their significant others are more important than the significant others of the girls to the girls. haha~

It's nice to see people like Xingyi and Jacelyn coming back from their internships overseas. It's even nice to receive presents from friends. Thanks Xingyi for that camel bone hairstick. And Sheena for that cute little pink bikini. It's nice just seeing these close friends who we don't get to meet each other that often, and just catching up with each other on our lives.

German class dinner gathering at Brotzeit
deutsch kommilitonen
and desserts at Häagen Dazs

It's really nice of Danny to organise such a gathering. We've been saying of wanting to have gatherings for so long but yet no one made the initiative and nothing amounted from all the talk, but Danny put an end to that and forced us to come out for dinner. To think that I was still comtemplating about staying at home and doing my work, lucky I didn't do that, if not I'd be regretting.

I've been wanting to go down to Brotzeit for the longest time but have been procrastinating, so this was a good chance to try out their food, and sausages and review them for my sausage blog. It quirkily turned out that every one of us ordered sausages. The girls had normal sausage dishes while the guys when for the sausage platter for two.

After that we were pondering on where to go for desserts, and thought about going to Ben and Jerry's but it was too crowded. We then chanced upon a table at Häagen Dazs. Once we opened the menu, the first thing that caught out eyes was the chocolate fondue. Immediately all of us agreed on getting that fondue to share. It's also the first time I'm having fondue, and it was great! Just that it was too messy, maybe we had too many people to a small table so there wasn't enough space.

It's a pity we didn't get to speak that much Deutsch even though we tried, but well, we tried!

Yes, I am having fun~

Girls Clique Dinner

Finally one of our little gatherings commanded a full strength turn out. And because I brought my camera, so there's no need to wait for photos from everyone even though others did take lots of pictures too, but well, here are nine beautiful girls coming up in this post!

Some time last year, during the Christmas period, there was a little gathering at Vivocity for dinner, but the turn out was only half-strength. And waiting for photos was quite jialat, and there weren't many photos too. I can't even remember much about that little gathering already. But at least the photos aren't taking as long a time as the photos from our Sentosa chalet cum BBQ. Gunni! Where are they??? wahaha~

girls clique 2006
Zihui, Hami, Rozie, Jas and Joan

Putting more girls and more camera in the same area, gives one a much higher density of photos. So instead of the measely pictures we took last year, this year, with four more girls in the turn out, we have loads and loads more pictures~

girls clique 2007
Trying out different photo taking methods

First we tried to use the timer function, so I set the camera to 10s mode, but we also wanted to do the all heads in thingie, where we try and squeeze all out heads into a self taken shot, but we didn't realise that the camera was still in the timer function, so after we pressed we were wondering why the camera didn't capture our shot. -_-" girls~

But we didn't capture a timed shot after that fiasco, but as you can see from the picture, my overzealousness covered Jasmine, so NGNGNG. Then we tried the all heads in thingie with Zihui holding the camera. The trick was for all of us to squeeze our heads and note that our heads are in the frame, then signal for Zihui to capture, but the constant squeezing and giggling, and you know whatnots from the girls resulted in Hami, me and Rozie having half our faces cut off, and Yingling relegated to having only an eye in the frame. haha~ Then Zihui tried to take a decent shot of us, but that resulted in her and Hami not being in the picture, and for some reason Yingling was totally blocked by Daidai and Jasmine was half covered by me. Finally, we decided to ask the waiter to help us take a picture. tadah~ Nice one!

It's so nice that I've a bigger one here.
girls clique full strength

Usually table shots are weird and lopsided with the people in front looking bigger than those at the back, but this shot turned out to be quite nice, a somewhat circular shape. And maybe because we girls are pretty also la, that's why the picture turned out nice. haha~

girls clique circle
Me taking pictures with all the other girls individually

Not knowing when's the next time we can have all out girls free for a meet up, I took a picture with all of them individually. Jasmine's now doing her Literature Honours Year in NUS, gunning for a first class. Jiadai's working at the Singapore Sports Council, promoting sports to little kids. Yingling's doing her honours year in Japanese Studies in NUS. Rozie's still looking for a job having graduated with a shared degree in European Studies and Sociology. Hamidah's still studying Econs at SMU having just returned from her attachment in Dubai. Zihui's working already, after graduating from NTU. Shuhui's still at NIE. Eunice's doing her honours study in Social Work at NUS. And well, I'm also doing honours year in NUS. So, that's our updates in a nutshell.

After a forgettable dinner at Fig and Olive, we headed down to Ben & Jerry's for ice cream and more camwhoring.

Fireworks

Yesterday and today there was the fireworks festival thingie at the floating podium at Esplanade Bay there, and thanks to an aunt, who wanted my family to babysit her daughter, we got free tickets from her to watch the fireworks live, and with a guaranteed seat. Others had to pay $8 for that ticket, or else have to go down around the area extra early to chope a place around the river and squeeze with tens of thousands of other people. Or else you can pay good money for some other means of guaranteeing a perfect spot.

Even though we were guaranteed a seat, we still went down early because we were told that there was a carnival there and my sister was quite interested about it. I was kiasu and just wanted to go into the amphitheatre early so that I wouldn't need to queue up when everyone starts to throng in. It turned out that we were very early, and the carnival was pretty much pathetic.

fireworks. reaching early
We still had some fun taking pictures and admiring the scenery and taking pictures of the scenery and looking for our seats, and buying some food, and exploring the whole premise of the amphitheatre.

I really like the seats! They are so colourful and pretty and nice and because they are still new, they're also quite clean. Or maybe it's because it rained earlier in the day so the rain washed away pretty much most of the dirt from the NDPs in the weeks following this. hahaha~ Because we had a lot of time to spare, I ended up playing handphone games whiling time away while my sister studied for the tests. The parents and Sammie came a bit later and they ate. Sammie's mother just gave birth a couple of days ago and is still in confinement, more of her new baby later.

There were lots of balloon sculpters around plying their trade. I think it's for charity because the price of the balloons are out of our own freewill. Of course, we bought quite a few of them.

fireworks. balloons
My sister started the balloon affair with a Tweedy Bird one, then I got a little blue bear, it so happened that Sammie later got the same bear in yellow, but I had two heart shaped balloons because I bought mine early, and me and my sister had a stick to hole the balloon. The stick turned out to be quite useful because we were squashed when we were leaving the grounds, and I could stick the balloon up into the air to siam all the squeezy people.

It rained briefly in the late afternoon but my sister had an umbrella so we hid under there for a while. It wasn't that bad that warrented an umbrella but my sister was still sick so it's best if she was out of the rain. I went under the umbrella because it was there. haha~ Thankfully, the clouds cleared when the crowds thronged in and the fireworks went ahead without any hitch.

fireworks. shades of the night
We sat there long enough to see the changes in the skyline.

The afternoon was cloudy and windy and the weather was a bit erratic. By the late evening, the sun set and the lights all turned on. You can see from the second picture that there's a very strong beam of light. I liked that effect, it's almost like it's still not too dark, but it's still also quite artificial. Thankfully, the lights were turned off during the fireworks display if not I'd personally kill the organisers. After the fireworks display, there's another element left in the sky, the heavy smog. Very environmental friendly, very good use of money, but really very pretty, so well, I think I still am in favour of fireworks. haha~

fireworks. the spectators
We had guaranteed seats, but for the other who wanted a free show, they had to chope places early, if not, well, there's the possibility of booking a room at the Ritz-Carlton, direct view of the amphitheatre if you are at the correct side, if at the wrong side, no worries, you can go to the stairwell there and peer through the windows. The larger windows are the rooms one, and the bathrooms ones, the smaller ones are the stairs. There were really a lot of shadows, much more than seen in the picture, standing there waiting for a glimpse of the fireworks.

The duck tour boat was also parked at the side of the river mouth waiting to catch the fireworks, so lucky for that batch of tourists on that boat. For those who can't afford for duck tours, the river taxi bum boats were also in service, parked by the other side of the amphitheatre to watch the fireworks. If not, can always join the rest of the people at the Fullerton there to watch.

The funny thing was that as the amphitheatre lights were turned off, a bunch of other lights were turned on, those were the lights from the LCD screens of everyone's cameras. There were really much much more than those you see in the picture, my camera could only capture that fraction, and yes, I was one of those holding a camera. haha~

Okay, enough words already, enjoy the fireworks.
fireworks. 1

fireworks. 2

fireworks. 3
But really, the camera can never capture the full beauty of the fireworks, only the naked eye can. And I think fireworks are nice only when in direct view, and not between a glass window. Yes, it was really beautiful, have I said that?

But it was quite stupid la, waited for hours just for a 15min show, and another 15min lights show before the fireworks display, but well, fireworks are so so pretty.

Friends and Family

Okay, it's not so much of friends per se, but a friend in particular, JASMINE! And my little sister. Haven't been talking much about her lately, so a couple of pictures here to reiterate her existence in my pathetic life. haha~

Jasmine.
meeting up with jasmine

Jasmine just returned from her exchange programme in Edinbourgh and I managed to snag a slot to meet up with her. There was supposed to be another girls' outing the next day but I had to give it a miss because I had something else on, so the only way to meet up with this girl was to arrange for another time. And we just had to shop. haha~ It was the last friday of the month, and we were going to town, so we had extended shopping hours! My sister tagged along because she wanted to shop, and she was complaining that the term "midnight shopping" is highly misleading because the shops closed at midnight.

I think late night shopping should be extended to like all weekends, every friday and saturday and extended to more shopping malls because based on the number of people in town that day, I think there is a high demand for late night shopping. There were still throngs of people shopping even though some shops were already closed, but looking at the number of people in the remaining shops, it seemed like the crowd didn't disperse when shops closed, but they merely made their way to the remaining opened shops. And even when the clock struck midnight and the remaining shops were closing, it took a great deal of effort to get all the shoppers out of the shops.

Speaking of Jasmine, I just got hold of a couple of photos from Shuhui the other day which was from Jasmine's 21st birthday party last year.
jasmine's birthday party

Much have happened, Jasmine went on exchange and back. Nothing much happened to me even though I did have stuff that I updated the girl about that excited her a great deal. The next year up will be quite a tough one for all of us with honours year looming and a lot of stuff to do and we'll probably get swamped with work work work.

My sister on the other hand, spent her summer in the rurals of Cambodia helping build a well and kena stung by godknowswhat bugs. Then the rest of her holidays was spent studying for her June Common Tests, now that the tests are over, she's preparing to welcome a immersion student in our household. For about two weeks, this Taiwanese girl will stay with us in our house! Quite exciting, especially myself having spent four weeks with a host family in Freiburg. My sister's hoping that the girl would be a fan of Jolin Tsai or Luo Zhixiang, so that they can gush about the Taiwanese celebs together.

My sister.
my sister

This picture was taken just after she came back from Cambodia. She was damn funny. Asked if she took many pictures during her stay there, she replied that she was lazy to take pictures so there were only sporadic pictures from the first couple of days. When asked about the rest of the days, she said that a friend of hers saw that she had a camera but seldom took pictures with it and grabbed the camera from her and started taking loads of pictures for her. hahaha~ I also want this kind of friend leh, then I don't need worry that I don't turn up in my own photos.

I also feel like taking an aeroplane and just fly to somewhere and eat and relax.
Anyone care to sponsor me?

Blast from the Past

I've been holding back these pictures for quite some time because it took me this long to get my Photoshop installed, ya, I procrastinate, but well, look at these yummy photos. Yup, over the past couple of days I met up with some very old friends, okay, not old as in old per se but these very close friends whom I haven't met up with for the longest time.

Friends, it's not about how often you meet them, but what regard you have for them in your heart.

See, I even make it a point to photoshop all these photos into montages to make it look nice, and even hand scrawled comments all over. I don't do that for all my pictures, only the ones that mean most to me. Yup, so these are the pictures of the friends, food not included. haha~

As with all meet up with friends, we inadvertably end up at some food joint so that we can feed our tummies as we feed each other with the latest updates and the juiciest gossips, and Joan being Joan will definitely take lots of porny food pictures, but I'vee leave them to another day since the food deserves a post on it's own. And I'm too tired to describe all the food and I don't have the time to photoshop the food pictures, so I'll leave that to another day, okie?

Huijing

at KBox

We had wanted to meet up for a K session for the longest time, but because of conflicting schedules, we postponed, rescheduled, and flew aeroplanes before we finally were able to meet up. It was quite a good deal as we sang for about 5+ hours, considering that there were only two of us, we managed to sing until we don't know what else to sing.

at Fish and Co

It seemed like everytime we met up for some sort of a meal, we'd end up at Fish and Co, especially if we were at Parkway. haha~ Maybe it's because Fish and Co is situated outside the building itself so it's presented as the most convenient location to us. But well, I'm not sick of it since the last time I ate Fish and Co was quite some time ago, with Huijing also. We shared these two platters as we wanted variety, and I think I should share stuff more often, can eat more stuff and won't get sick of any one item.

Jinwei

at Yum Cha

We had wanted to go watch movie one, but the tickets we sold out. Not knowing what to do, we ended up doing what we did best, eating. Jinwei had the coupons for the buffet, so we went down there to eat eat eat instead. For $15 per pax, this buffet is really worth it. Will blog about the food in another post though.

Jinwei is so funny lor. He's so worried about what I'd blog about him and keeps reminding me not to blog about this not to blog about that. He also doesn't let me put up the pictures we took, so I can only put up the pictures I took of him. Doesn't he look so shuai? If only he was taller and leaner, he can go join Star Search. Too bad he's too lazy to lose weight, can't help him regarding the height either. bah~ Really good to see him again, and catch up with him. After updating each other about our personal lives, it seemed like really a lot happened to the both of us. Wish him all the best in snagging that girl he likes~ Jiayou oh!

Victoria

at Sushi Tei

It's been also a very long time since I met up with Victoria. The last time was the 4B gathering but we didn't really talk much, so this was the time when we caught up about our lives. A lot have changed to the both of us, a lot of have changed since the last time we updated each other, especially in terms of relationships. Talking about such stuff, I realised that the both of us have sort of the same views regarding men, or rather we'd treat the partners in about the same way, it's not really that good a thing, but well, it's just like that.

I miss the old friends, should make it a point to be more in touch with the old friends and constantly bug them. lol~

End of May

May was a bad month. bah!

I just found out that it wasn't my phone that's faulty but my memory card that's faulty, so gone are 10 days of pictures, 100+ mp3s, 1700+ SMSes. So, digging out of my remaining stuff left around with me, plus a complete hard disk for this dumb computer, ya, presenting to you the remnants of the good bits of my month of May...

I had my toes painted, actually I had all my nails painted, but the highlight of my toenails are the butterflies~

I hadn't actually wanted to do the nailart but my manicurist showed me her sample and I thought it was quite cool and I thought okay. At first I thought it was only $4, but later after it was done then she told me that actually complicated designs are $5. Felt a bit cheated, but what's done was done and the butterfly was really pretty. I had one on each of my big toe~

I went cycling with Shawn!

His family had extra bikes, so I picked one up and we cycled down East Coast Park from his place. I really suck at cycling on roads, everytime a car drives by, I'd stop the bike and wait for the car to go by me, then when I come to traffic lights, I'd get off the bike and push it across, I'm also afraid of cycling near longkangs. But it was fun, and I got quite a bit of tan from all the cycling. One funny incident happened when I was cycling near this bend with a slope, I was in the middle of two lanes when suddenly some person behind rang the bell on me. I panicked and shouted "I'm damn scared, I'm damn scared." and stopped right in the middle of the two lanes and waited for that guy to cycle past me. -_-" He even had the cheek to say "Don't need to scared la" as he went by me. bah~

BBQ

Can you spot me??? I'm like quite hidden... Went for this chalet, sort of like a camp but the turn out was so bad that it seemed more like a chalet. There were like so many rooms and so little people that I had a bed to myself and there were still empty beds not taken. But it was quite fun la. Got to know many people and they are really a cool bunch of people. With me staying for one more year in NUS, think I can get to know them better.

It was a pity I didn't get to go to the AGM cos I was tied up in the hospital then well, just say that I was more needed at the hospital bah... hai...

This is a bunch of us at the bus stop.

I was telling them about how to use hands to cover up part of the face when taking pictures so that the face can look smaller in photos. Also can use the hand to cover up pimples and other facial flaws. Take for example me in the picture. My face was so pimply and oily and fat when I took that photo, but somehow I look pretty okay after using my hands to cover part of my face.

More on this technique some time later. It deserves a blog entry of its own. I even had done the photoshoot for it already. wahaha~

Youth.sg's bloggers gathering.
This picture was kapoked from someone I can't remember who. hahaha~

It was quite fun la, got to know quite a lot of people. Most of them are a lot nicer in real life then their online persona, I guess this happens quite often. Mrotaku won the blogging competition. Seeing the length he did to gather votes, and the effort he put in when he did up his blog entry, good for him. But the highlight of the even was meeting thegreatsze. OMG... I was just like this young giggly fangirl when the group of us saw him walk in. haha~ But he's really a cool guy, as cool as what he's like on his blog. Amazing. It was good also that he came cos that way I wouldn't be the oldest at the table. hahaha~

Zelia, Otaku and me.
This picture was kapoked from the youth.sg page

I don't have Zelia's link, paiseh. There was great hype about her being very pretty. Well, maybe cos I've seen lots of pretty girls around so I think that she's the kind who's more of photogenic rather than really pretty kind of pretty. Or maybe I prefer stick thin girls as pretty. hahaha~ I've a warped sense of beauty.

This is with Xingyi. Xingyi, if you're reading this can you drop me your blog link please? I lost it after my hard disk crashed and my favourites all disappeared.

That pretty girl's now in gritty India. How's it there??? I had the honour of meeting her just before she fly and we had a great meal and took some nice pictures.

Yup, I still have pictures with the KTV session with Huijing, and more pictures I took here there everywhere. I had actually wanted to do a food roundup, but most of my food pictures are gone, along with all those stuff I said were gone earlier, so ended up having to do this social roundup. Not bad either, just that I'd actually met up with more people and had more photos taken but can't really put all of them up leh. So here's only part of my social events calendar, people whose pictures are not up, it's not that I don't love you, just that I'm a lazy pig. haha~

Hope the month of June would be a better month for me, with more pictures, more social events, more friends, and none of my anythings dying on me~

With the Girls

Because of the severe lack of posts this month with my hard disk crashing and my away from the computer because of family reasons, shall post a couple of pictures to lighten the atmosphere and try cheer myself up. Not much words ahead though.

These are a couple of days ago after my comp crashed but before I got it fixed. I met up with the girls over lunch. I always have this mixed feelings meeting up with the girls because I don't like the feeling of going out in big groups and there's a certain difference I feel when with the girls, well, not all of them, but certainly some of them. The difference isn't always a negative one, but well, it does make me feel somewhat unsettled. Or maybe I just prefer going out with individual friends like I mostly do.

Jasmine, Shuhui and Eunice are missing, Jasmine is on her SEP now and she's really having lots of fun. Makes me miss my own SEP experience a lot.

Zihui and Rozie are graduating and will be/are embarking on the working life. For the rest of us, it isn't that much longer for us to join them. hai... Time flies by so quickly, once we were young and cute and more worried about what to eat for our next meal, what movie to watch during our next free time, and making sure that there's always one person having a break so that she can stay in the library to chope our favourite table for us and also to look after our bags.

Surprisingly, okay, maybe not so, none of us brought cameras, so we only took pictures with the handphone cameras. But we still tried to squeeze in our trademark "all heads in" shot over the lunch table.

Zihui and Joan.

I think other than my family members, Zihui is the friend I have quarrelled with most frequently. We're so different, having so polarised thoughts about different matters but I still respect her so much as a friend. I can slight other friends, but I just can't seem to fault her and after that we'd try and see through the differences and make up again.

Just read from her blog that she's picking up a job which pays $1600 before CPF deduction. erm... hai... It really sound quite bad, but well, I still wish her all the best in her career.

Okay, I'm getting tired, but can't resist putting up this pouty face of mine. Haven't camwhored in quite a long time, so this is it. I haven't even make up-ed in a long time that my mum thought that my make up that day was too thick. haha~ And also, I wore earrings! haha~ I so seldom wear earrings that I thought it's something worth mentioning. And the earrings were a present from the girls somemore. Ah, so coincidental that was the earrings I wore to meet them. haha~

Friends for as long as we all make the effort to remain as friends.
Remember the 8th of August date next year, though I don't know if I'd be able to make it, but as long as I'm in Singapore, I'll definitely make it~

Ciao~
