it's something out from the rumour mill. my informant says there's a source. but i can't confirm. besides, i personally don't believe it, because the subject in matter once given me a word of assurance that he disapproved of teacher-student relationships.
"Can u let us know who's the suspected subject in question?"
Hi anonymous,
why would you want to know who the subject in question is? Who is "us"? There's no need to fuel the rumour mill. Since it's on a blog, read as a point of interest, and nothing else.
Hi, joanne, thank you for the comment. I'm very sorry. I didn't realise that an innocuous question could be interpreted in such a way... the "us" was a figure of speech... I'm def. not a prof in NUS and I'm not out to make trouble for anyone.
If something of the nature as described in the rumour really did occur, does it matter an iota as to whether I ask any questions about it? I really doubt that. :) And if it didn't happen, why would it matter at all since the "suspect in question" and his student are both innocent? If they are innocent, asking questions would help clarify their innocence. If I ask a question, it is because I want to know the answer... not because I have ulterior motives of trying to land anyone into further trouble... I wanted to know who that person is so that I can make my own judgements based upon my own observations of the said individual and his interactions with his students... But interestingly enough, after writing that comment, I realised that it might have been the wrong thing to ask... The thing is that based upon what I've read, I have certain ideas about who that person might be and I didn't want to have the wrong ideas... so I thought of asking for clarification... Perhaps I did do the wrong thing by asking a question like this... so thank you for bringing it to my attention. I'll bear that in mind the next time I hear scandalous stories like these. :)
thanks all who've commented. this rumour shall end here.
don't know if it's wisdom or stupidity, but i believe, i don't want to know what i don't want to know and only want to know what i want to know. so for this matter, i shall not want to know anything more.
So you hear a rumour that you don't believe about people who have helped you and you spread it anyway by publishing it on your blog. glad i am not your friend
anon: well, all i can say is that i've 用心良苦,却得不到凡人的了解. there was a second layer meaning to this post but since well, i haven't got my intended results, this post has self destrcted as promised.
*in a small voice* i was really hoping i could flush out the truth by that post, i really meant to quash the rumours by posting it. all i wanted to do was to help. but it seemed like i went a bit too far.

Hmmm... Is this "100% confirmed" information or speculation?

there's nothing as a 100% confirmed rumour. It's a rumour! If can confirm then it's a truth.

haha, chillycraps, that's true. :) My bad. :)
i'm not saying anything online.
after monday, if you are still interested to know, drop me an email.

Wow...I think I know who you are talking about. I just hope it is a nasty rumor, I hope there is no truth to it...
